Summer 2020 Report

The Student Diplomacy Corps looks forward to a time when young people can once again explore beautiful cultures across the world. In the meantime, two new initiatives are keeping the SDC community connected:

SDC@LIVE allowed students to build community and engage with the world while safely sheltering in place.

An eight week lineup of master classes featured: a professional dancer in Chile, a Spanish Picasso expert, the Director of Meditation Training at the University of Wisconsin Athletics, a famous Maori rights activist in Aotearoa and a nationally renowned journalist.

The Student Diplomacy Service Corps provides short-term employment for SDC alumni college graduates to build professional skills and support SDC@LIVE master classes.

Over the past four months, ten Service Corps associates have assisted SDC with: virtual group leadership, curriculum development, video, audio and graphic design, recruitment, enrollment and outreach, social media and technical support.
